Job summary

Kibbi Technologies Inc. in Ottawa seeks a dedicated concrete finisher to join our on-site construction team. You will inspect materials, prepare forms, pour and finish concrete, and ensure grade and cure specifications are met.

This hands-on role requires physical stamina and adherence to safety protocols. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of concrete experience, a high school diploma, and basic safety certifications.

Qualifications

• 1 year to less than 2 years of concrete labor experience.
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required.
• Certifications: OH&S, First Aid, CPR, WHMIS.

Responsibilities

• Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials.
• Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement.
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification.
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
• Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
• Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures.
• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.
• Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces.
• Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
