Job summary

Dexter Construction Company in Wolfville, NS is seeking a Concrete Finisher to perform skilled finishing on poured concrete surfaces including floors, walks, sidewalks, roads and curbs under the Foreman's direction.

You will operate screeds and hand tools, apply curing compounds, monitor temperature and wind, and maintain a safe, efficient work site. The role may involve travel across Nova Scotia as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate a screed to level freshly placed concrete according to grade and depth specification.
• Ensure a smooth concrete surface using hand tools and floats.
• Cut joints/grooves in concrete to control cracking.
• Repair concrete by drilling and setting reinforcing rods as needed.
• Apply curing compounds and sealants for durability.
• Monitor wind and air temperature for proper curing.
• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment on site.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
