Job Overview
The Concierge is often the initial contact and first impression that many people have of Sunrise Senior Living. The Concierge is responsible for greeting potential residents, families, and visitors, managing both external and internal calls, and taking and communicating messages. The Concierge provides an overview of community information to those inquiries in support of the Director of Sales (DOS) and Executive Director (ED). Responsible for assisting the Business Office Coordinator (BOC)/HR Designee in the community recruitment process, computer data entry, and other assigned general administrative duties as well as monitoring the Bistro area for refreshments, cleanliness, and music and ensuring a pleasant atmosphere.
Responsibilities

The unique responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the essential functions listed as follows:
- Customer Service: Oversee the community entry area for visitors, guests, and residents, extend a warm welcome, offer beverages, and ensure that community safety protocols are in place.
- Coordinate with the DOS, ED, or Department Coordinator to meet with prospective residents, families, or visitors and minimize wait times.
- Greet potential candidates interested in Sunrise careers, direct them to apply online, or capture candidate information in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to launch recruitment.
- Answer incoming telephone and resident calls within 2–3 rings with the appropriate greeting and identification.
- Take complete messages with pertinent information and communicate to the intended recipient.
- Offer and provide a community overview to callers and facilitate transfers as needed.
- Manage appointments for residents and family members (e.g., hairdresser, transportation).
- Send get-well cards to residents in the hospital.
- Order Memory Flowers for residents who have passed away and send sympathy cards to families as needed.
- Sales and Marketing: Order flowers and name plates for new residents prior to move-in; order guest meals for resident and family for move-in day; create and maintain marketing/move-in packet inventory.
- Support the DOS by handling initial inquiry calls with potential families and residents and encourage interest in Sunrise. Assist with CRM lead tracking data entry if applicable. Perform administrative duties related to the move-in process.
- Front Desk and Bistro Areas: Keep desk/entry area neat, monitor Bistro for cleanliness, ensure refreshments are available, maintain popcorn machine, and restock as needed. Keep music playing and ensure coverage if stepping away.
- Risk Management: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promote Risk Management programs, and follow safety rules. Practice PPE, fire safety, SDS, and Lockout/Tagout procedures. Maintain rosters and schedules for emergencies. Support Safe Leaving Program and ensure resident safety in line with Sunrise standards. Respond to emergencies as per policies and procedures. Manage guest/resident sign-in/sign-out and maintain high-risk elopement lists.
- Administrative: Update resident phone list/roster, prepare meal tickets, tally meal counts, handle payments per internal controls, organize mail and newspapers, post the daily menu, maintain resident forms, assist with recruitment data entry, monitor ordering of office supplies, and track paychecks.
- Training and Team Success: Actively participate as a team member, demonstrate our Team Member Credo, serve residents through Principles of Service, engage in team/member engagement activities, attend regular meetings, maintain required training, and perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Proven customer service experience and skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) and Sunrise applications; ability to learn new applications
- If applicable, drivers must sign the Driver job description and understand essential duties for safety and regulatory compliance
