Job summary

Westerner Park in Red Deer, Alberta, is seeking service-oriented Concession Attendants to join our Food & Beverage Services team. These casual positions support event delivery by providing friendly customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, processing transactions, and keeping concession areas clean and welcoming.

Under the Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage Operations, you will greet guests, set up stands, handle cash, and work in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in cashier, concession, food service or customer service is a plus.
• Experience handling cash transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, respond to requests, and deliver positive guest experiences.
• Set up concession stands for opening with items and stations.
• Prepare and serve food items such as hot dogs, popcorn, and other concession items.
• Set up and maintain cups, napkins, utensils, condiments, and supplies.
• Ensure equipment, counters, and workstations are cleaned, sanitized, and ready for use.
• Process customer orders, operate POS, take payments, and give correct change.
• Follow cash handling procedures and maintain accuracy.
• Monitor inventory and restock beverages, condiments, supplies.
• Maintain knowledge of concession products and menu offerings.
• Keep concession areas clean and organized during shifts.
• Follow Westerner Park policies and food safety standards.
• Maintain professional appearance per uniform and hygiene standards.
• Support team and adapt to changing event requirements.

Position Overview

Westerner Park is seeking service-oriented and reliable Concession Attendants to join our Food & Beverage Services team. These casual positions play an important role in supporting the successful delivery of events by providing friendly customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, processing transactions, and maintaining clean and welcoming concession areas for our guests.

Under the direction of the Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage Operations, Concession Attendants are responsible for supporting concession operations, maintaining high service standards, and creating positive guest experiences in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. These positions are scheduled on an as-needed basis based on event requirements and operational needs. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary depending on event schedules and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Concession Attendants are responsible for the following:

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, responding to requests, and creating a positive experience for all customers.
• Prepare concession stands for opening by setting up food items, beverage stations, displays, and service areas.
• Prepare and serve food items such as hot dogs, popcorn, and other concession products according to established standards.
• Set up and maintain non-food service items, including cups, napkins, utensils, condiments, and other supplies.
• Ensure equipment, counters, and workstations are cleaned, sanitized, and ready for use before, during, and after service.
• Process customer orders accurately, operate point-of-sale systems, receive payments, and provide correct change.
• Follow established cash handling procedures and maintain accuracy when processing transactions.
• Maintain product levels by monitoring inventory and restocking items such as beverages, condiments, and concession supplies as required.
• Maintain basic knowledge of concession products and menu offerings to effectively assist guests.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of concession areas throughout each shift.
• Follow Westerner Park policies, procedures, and food safety standards.
• Maintain a professional appearance by following uniform requirements and personal hygiene standards.
• Support team members and adapt to changing event requirements by completing other related duties as assigned.

• Previous cashier, concession, food service, or customer service experience is considered an asset.
• Experience processing customer orders and handling cash transactions.
