Job summary

Modern Technical Staffing Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Boring Mill Machinist for a full-time, permanent role in our Ontario operation.

You will set up and operate CNC boring mills and large CNC milling equipment on complex, large components, reading drawings and GD&T, and ensuring tight tolerances. The ideal candidate has strong blueprint-reading skills, can work independently at the machine, and will perform tooling and offset adjustments with precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Boring Mill Machinist or CNC Machinist.
• Ability to independently set up CNC machinery.
• Experience machining large or complex components.
• Strong blueprint-reading and GD&T skills.
• Proficient with precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC boring mills and CNC milling machines.
• Machine large components according to drawings and specifications.
• Perform machine setups, tooling, fixtures, offsets, and alignment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and machining specs.
• Make CNC program and offset adjustments at the machine.
• Select tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining methods.
• Perform roughing/finishing while maintaining tolerances.
• Inspect work using micrometers, verniers/calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, etc.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and dimensional issues.
• Maintain quality throughout the machining process.
• Follow safety, quality and production procedures.

Job description

Day or Afternoon Shift | $33.00–$40.00/hr

We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Boring Mill Machinist to join a well-established manufacturing operation. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for a skilled machinist with experience setting up and operating CNC horizontal boring mills and/or large CNC milling equipment.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with large, complex parts, reading engineering drawings, performing setups, and machining components to tight tolerances.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay: $33.00–$40.00 per hour, based on experience
• Shifts Available: Days or Afternoons
• Employment: Full-time, permanent
• Overtime opportunities may be available

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a CNC Boring Mill Machinist, CNC Mill Machinist, or CNC Machinist
• Strong experience machining large or complex components
• Ability to independently set up CNC machinery
• Strong blueprint-reading and mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of GD&T and tight-tolerance machining
• Comfortable using precision measuring and inspection equipment
• Ability to make CNC program or offset adjustments as required
• Experience in tooling, mold, die, automotive, aerospace, or heavy machining environments would be an asset
• Must be comfortable working independently and taking ownership of machining quality
