Job Description:

1. Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
2. Load computer tapes and disks and install software and printer paper forms.
3. Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records.
4. Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet.
5. Modify Web Pages, applets and scripts.
6. Respond to requests for help and information from Website visitors and website designers.
7. Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.
8. Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks and to co-ordinate access and use of computer networks.
9. Provide problem-solving services to network users.
10. Implement data, software and hardware security procedures.
11. Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
12. Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade Web-server hardware and software.
13. Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance.
14. Research and apply meta-data to Websites and register Websites with search engines.
15. Perform Web-server backup and recovery options.
16. Supervise technical staff.
17. Until the COVID-19 health crisis passes: responsibilities of the chosen candidate will be adjusted to include working from home.

Requirements:

1. Education: Completion of a college or other program in computer science, network administration, web technology or a related field is required.
2. Experience: At least 2 years of experience in the computer network field is required.
3. Strong analytical and customer service skills.
4. Computer and Technology Knowledge: MAC, Linux, Device drivers, networking software, networking hardware, intranet, internet, servers, desktop applications, file management software, multimedia software, word processing software, mail server software, communication software, desktop publishing software, database software, MS Windows, MS Office, Data analysis software.
5. Operating Systems and Software: Virtualization.
6. Credentials: CISCO certified network associate and Network Certification are a strong asset.
7. Personal suitability: Client focus, organized, team player, initiative, accurate, judgement, excellent oral and written communication.
8. Working conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, attention to detail.

Salary:

$32.00 – ... hourly, 40 hours per week.

Important Information:

Flexibility in schedule is required. Work schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Overtime, weekend work and on-call shifts might be required based on the business’ needs. 30 minutes of paid lunch time and 2 paid breaks of 15 minutes each will be provided. We will implement security measures for the worker during the pandemic.
