Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a shared responsibility at VIHA. Continuous quality and safety improvements are inherent in this position.

Reporting to the Section Head, Site Supervisor or designate, the CT & Medical Imaging Technologist performs specialized procedures such as Computerized Tomography (CT), along with general medical imaging procedures. Responsibilities include handling requisitions, preparing equipment, monitoring patients, operating imaging and data systems, archiving images, and taking on shift responsibilities including evenings, weekends, and nights, often working independently.

Qualifications:

Education, Training And Experience

• Graduation from an approved Radiology Technologist Diploma program and eligibility for CAMRT registration.
• Recent relevant experience in radiography and CT, completion of an accepted CT certificate program, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
