Job description

Eastern Traffic Services, part of The Municipal Group of Companies, is a large, diversified Construction Company engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction industry within the Atlantic Provinces. Eastern Traffic is currently seeking a Compound Attendant to support our operations based in Lower Sackville, NS.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Compound Manager, the Compound Attendant will work closely with other compound attendants and Traffic Control Supervisors to track and maintain traffic control equipment. We are seeking candidates who are organized, detail oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. This is a 12pm-10pm, Monday to Friday position with availability to work every third weekend.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Maintain compound inventory.
  • Count/Track equipment being signed in/out of the compound.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of Compound.
  • Deliver/clean-up traffic control equipment on job sites.
  • Work collaboratively with ETS Planning Department in job pre-planning to ensure that required equipment is available and designated for upcoming projects.
  • Must be available to work every third weekend.
  • Any other duties as required.

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly, 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Computer skills considered an asset.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Working safely is a condition of employment.
  • Company vehicle NOT provided, must have reliable vehicle for transportation.
  • Knowledge of the Nova Scotia Traffic Control Manual and program will be considered an asset.
