About the role:

As part of BSC’s Legal department in Canada, the Compliance Specialist supports BSC’s Compliance Program, projects, tools and processes. The Compliance Specialist interacts with BSC Legal and Global Compliance teams and helps provide high quality compliance services to internal and external customers while protecting the company’s assets.

This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office in Brampton, ON for at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assist Canada Legal & Compliance Counsel and their teams in the implementation and maintenance of BSC Global Compliance Policies and processes in Canada, including monitoring risks related to regulations applicable to the medical device industry and other Global Compliance standards and procedures.

• Creating and updating policies, procedures, and training material related to internal policies.

• Monitoring and auditing, regularly assessing processes to identify potential compliance issues and ensure adherence to internal policies.

• Preparing and tracking compliance processes and providing updates to relevant stakeholders.

• Providing guidance to employees on compliance requirements and best practices.

• Collaborating with various departments to address compliance related matters.

• Review and approve Internal Request Forms (IRFs) in the e-HCP tool for HCPs related Canadian events and activities and related documentation events and activities; Keep close relation and communication with key stakeholders of the IRF process.

• Participate in the design and delivery of compliance trainings specific to the regulations and local needs of BSC organization.

• Responsible for internal compliance monitoring, including real-time IRF events field monitoring and sample testing for payments for BSC activities in Canada.

Required qualifications:

  • College Diploma – preferably Legal Assistant background

  • Analytical Skills - Ability to analyze data and assess potential compliance risks
  • Communication Skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex information to various stakeholders

  • Attention to detail - Meticulous attention to details to ensure accuracy and thoroughness in the compliance process
  • Interpersonal Skills - Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com --will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).
