Job summary

A leading retailer in Huntsville is seeking a Compliance Specialist to collaborate with various levels of management and drive compliance improvement across multiple areas. You will be responsible for educating associates, conducting assessments, analyzing data, and fostering communication. The ideal candidate will be 16 years or older and will demonstrate a commitment to compliance and safety.

Job description

Position Summary

To collaborate with all levels including Store Management, Market Management, and Subject Matter Experts. They will be responsible for educating associates and managers on compliance programs. This involves monitoring compliance controls in their respective facilities, identifying root causes, driving corrective actions, and fostering continuous improvement with the goal of building trust with customers, associates, stakeholders, and regulatory entities.

What you'll do

Deliver compliance and safety awareness utilizing Ethics and Compliance resources. Drive compliance improvement by conducting assessments across designated compliance areas such as (i) Health & Safety/Fire Code; (ii) Environmental; (iii) Consumer Protection; (iv) Anti Money Laundering; (v) Food Safety/Pest Control; (vi) Privacy & Employment; (vii) Licenses & Permits; (viii) Anti-Corruption. Provide on-the-spot compliance training at all levels within the facility, including new associate orientation. Analyze data to identify gaps and trends, determine root causes, and support action plan creation and execution to mitigate risks and ensure compliance. Participate in regulatory visits (excluding Health & Wellness and Human Resources matters), including online submissions and engaging relevant partners for resolution. Manage the hourly associate accident file process, including online submissions, investigations, and follow-up. Foster two-way communication with Store Management regarding attendance, progress notes, and accountability. Assist with collection and verification of documents for customer claims. Submit and follow up on Facilities Maintenance requests, including pest control issues. Utilize escalation tools to resolve issues and manage outstanding tickets. Conduct safety walks and inspections as part of the safety team, following up on action items from meetings and inspections.
