GVA Lighting Inc. is a leading electronics manufacturing company specializing in high-quality LED Lighting for architectural applications. We are seeking a passionate Compliance and Testing Lead to join our team. This role reports to the Director of Quality, Reliability & Sustainability and is responsible for ensuring product compliance, reliability, and performance.

The Compliance and Testing Lead will oversee global certification and compliance for lighting products in North America (UL, CSA), the EU (IEC, CE), and other regions (CCC, SASO, CB). Responsibilities include electronics validation, certification testing, failure analysis, and managing direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the compliance and testing team to meet KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Manage product compliance, certification testing, verification, and validation activities.
  • Coordinate efforts for UL DAP certification and serve as the primary contact for certification and compliance matters.
  • Plan and execute product testing in accordance with standards (UL, CSA, CE, CB, CCC).
  • Collaborate with product development teams to integrate compliance into product design.
  • Monitor and adapt to evolving regulations and standards.
  • Design and implement test procedures aligned with industry standards.
  • Work with external labs and certification bodies to facilitate testing and certification.
  • Analyze test data, identify failure causes, and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in design reviews and review technical documentation for compliance.
  • Maintain organized records of testing and compliance documentation.
  • Operate lab equipment and support testing activities.
  • Promote a collaborative environment and conduct internal training on compliance.
  • Assess risks related to non-compliance and suggest mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure a safe and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Authority:

  • Perform compliance testing and confirm product meets requirements.
  • Conduct product verification and validation activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in compliance engineering, preferably in lighting or similar products, with exposure to UL, CSA, CE, CB, CCC, and regional certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of lighting standards and regulations.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with testing procedures and equipment.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external bodies.
