Job description

The Regina Open Door Society (RODS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing settlement and integration services to refugees and immigrants in Regina. Located on Treaty 4 land in Regina, which is the traditional territory of the nêhiyawak/Cree, Nahkawē/Saulteaux, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis Nation, RODS is seeking a qualified individual for the full-time position of Complex Needs Facilitator. The start date for this role is July 2, 2025.

This position reports to the Manager of Settlement and Family Services and the Settlement Team Leader. The role involves supporting vulnerable GAR clients with multiple barriers, such as learning difficulties, disabilities, mental health, and physical impairments, especially when Case Workers cannot address these needs. The Facilitator will provide direct support and connect clients with appropriate services through a coordinated, multidisciplinary team approach, emphasizing a solution-focused, client and family-centered, culturally sensitive, and holistic approach.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Complete client intake, assessment, and goal planning.
  • Assist clients in identifying needs and developing attainable, time-specific goals, involving clients in decision-making.
  • Support clients in achieving their goals.
  • Provide psycho-social crisis intervention, including supportive counseling.
  • Organize and lead case management meetings.
  • Refer clients to community services and programs.
  • Offer crisis intervention via phone or face-to-face in the client's preferred environment.
  • Encourage problem-solving, conflict resolution, medication management, and life skills development.
  • Provide hands-on life skills training (e.g., cooking, cleaning, accessing transportation).
  • Advocate for clients and support them as needed.
  • Transport clients within the community.
  • Connect clients with community and internal/external supports.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups and wellness checks.
  • Collaborate with the RAP Team and provide backup assistance to agency programs.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
  • Compile statistics and develop program evaluation reports.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Desired Qualifications and Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Social Work or related field, with relevant work experience.
  • Excellent communication, counseling, cross-cultural, leadership, motivational, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop programs and work professionally within the community.
  • Criminal and vulnerable record check, reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and clean driver's abstract required.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to relate to families under stress and trauma.
  • Experience leading case management meetings.
  • Knowledge of community programs and resources.
  • Ability to work in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
  • Maturity, cross-cultural competence, positive attitude, strong documentation skills, and effective organizational and communication skills.
Working Conditions

The role involves working in both office and community settings, including evenings and weekends. The position may require lifting up to 15 lbs. Regular hours are Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM to 4:00 PM, with additional after-hours work as needed. Benefits include a cost-shared package and a 3% employer contribution to the Saskatchewan Pension Plan after a six-month probationary period. The annual salary is $54,440.59 ($31.02/hour).
