TAQA North is seeking a Completions Engineer in Calgary. You will provide advanced technical engineering and supervision for drilling and completions across conventional and multi-stage wells, with emphasis on design optimization and cost efficiency.

The role involves coordinating services, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and supporting field operations with strategic analysis. Ideal candidates have 10–15 years in completions, P.Eng/P.Tech designation, and strong project management

We are searching for a Completions Engineer. Reporting to the Manager, Drilling and Completions, you would be responsible for providing advanced technical engineering, guidance and supervision for drilling and completions for both conventional and multi-stage, horizontal, unconventional wells.

The successful candidate will identify, evaluate and recommend well designs, to maximize production and recovery, while mitigating operational risk and optimizing capital efficiency. The Completions Engineer will provide detailed cost estimates for AFE and budgeting purposes and plan, program and help call the frac during execution.

The Completions Engineer will also organize and hire services/operations for field activities, in close collaboration with the Completion Superintendent and Supply Chain team as necessary. This position will also ensure all field operations are in compliance with regulatory and company policies, review and submit regulatory applications and implement new and cost-effective technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete cost estimating and scenario/sensitivity planning.
• Prepare detailed completion programs, utilizing your experience in both design and operations engineering. This includes casing and tubing designs, frac design, water delivery, etc.
• Investigate, evaluate, analyze, and recommend effective completion design, practices and technologies.
• Remote monitoring of Frac operations.
• Monitor costs during execution and prepare post-job reviews to assess job and cost performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure field operations are carried out in safe, efficient and effective manner.

Qualifications:

• 10 - 15 years’ experience in Completions Engineering. Frac experience preferred.
• 1 – 2 years spent in the field on Operations execution (Operator or Service side).
• A Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Professional Technologist (P.Tech) designation.
• Demonstrated skills in project management, communication, organization and time management.
• Self-motivated, decisive, passionate, and responsible.
• Strong and effective health, safety, security, and environment leadership.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills – must be able to communicate at all levels and work well in a team environment.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• This role is based in Calgary with occasional field travel.
• Ability to provide three satisfactory professional references and complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
