Job summary

Cochrane Temiskaming Resource Centre (CTRC) is seeking three Part-Time Supported Group Living Counsellors to work in a supported living home. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, leisure and personal care, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support individuals with developmental disabilities.

Wage ranges from CAD 31.96 to 32.94 per hour plus shift premiums and benefits; opportunities for extra shifts and overtime are noted.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Developmental Service Worker Diploma or a Child and Youth Worker Diploma (with pharmacology) or a Practical Nurse Program Diploma will be considered.
• First Aid CPR Heart Saver certification and CPI are necessary or willingness to obtain.
• G class drivers license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living, leisure, recreation and personal care.
• Support individuals in social interactions and daily routines within a group living setting.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RN, psychology, speech staff, and client support workers.

#26-71: Three (3) Part-Time Supported GroupLiving Counsellors

The Cochrane Temiskaming Resource Centre(CTRC) is seeking three Supported Group Living Counsellors to join its team. CTRCis a regional Developmental Services provider offering programs across theDistricts of Temiskaming and Cochrane including coastal communities along Jamesand Hudson Bay. The successful candidate will work in a supported group livinghome offering supports to individuals with developmental disabilities. Supportsinclude providing assistance with activities of daily living, leisure,recreational, interpersonal interactions, medical and personal care. SupportedGroup Livnig Counsellors work collaboratively with different team membersincluding Assistant Supported Group Living Counsellors, a Registered Nurse,Psychological and Speech Services Staff, and Client Support Workers. SupportedGroup Living Counsellors report to a Supported Group Living Supervisor.

Part Time employees are offered adefined pension plan with the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) and are eligible from hire date to join theplan. Extended Health Benefits (80% of drug costs) Life insurance($25,000), dental ($1,500/yr.), vision ($300/24 months) and para-medicalcoverage ($400/year) are provided. Flexibleshifts (e.g., 2-4-6-8-10-12 hours during a 24 hour period).

Part-Time Employees may be scheduled upto 56 hours every 2 weeks and may accept extra shifts offered. Shift premiums(extra $0.60/hr. for evening shifts, extra $0.65/hr. for night shifts and anextra $0.32/hr. on Saturdays and Sundays with evening and night shift premiumsstill paid.) Overtime paid after daily limit of 12 hours. Personal EmergencyDays as per ESA and Collective Agreement.

Only those possessing a DevelopmentalService Worker Diploma or Child and Youth Worker Program Diploma (withpharmacology course) or a Practical Nurse Program Diploma will be consideredfor the Supported Group Living Counsellor position. Possession of an updatedStandard First Aid certificate (including Heart Saver CPR) and CPI, orwillingness to obtain such is necessary.A valid G class drivers license is also required. Bilingualism is an asset.

Individuals possessing a PersonalSupport Worker (PSW) certificate with pharmacology may apply and work as aSupported Group Living Counsellor (Underfill).

Supported Group Living Counsellor –Wage: $31.96 – 32.94

(+ 4.5% - 6.5% inlieu of vacation paid twice annually + 1% in lieu of benefits paid each payperiod)

Supported Group Living Counsellor- UnderfillWage: $30.92 – 31.85

(+ 4.5% - 6.5% inlieu of vacation paid twice annually + 1% in lieu of benefits paid each payperiod)
