Job description

Located within the central Office of Human Resources (OHR), the Compensation Center of Excellence (CCoE) helps the university attract, recruit, retain, and develop employees by providing consultative classification and compensation services. The CCoE develops strategies to ensure the university remains a competitive market-informed employer.

This position is being recruited for a Compensation Analyst I. The Compensation Analyst I will engage with campus stakeholders on classification-related matters. This role offers an opportunity to explore compensation best practices through professional development. Candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply, as on-the-job training will be provided, and the role will support basic-level tasks.

In this position, you will collaborate with HR professionals across campus to find solutions, provide support, and identify strategies to meet classification and compensation needs in accordance with campus policies, procedures, and best practices.

Responsibilities:
  1. 30% Provides consultation on compensation issues, maintains classification policies, reviews and approves classification and compensation requests, and analyzes data to ensure alignment with divisional and institutional goals on total cash compensation.
  2. 30% Serves as a main point of contact for HR staff, colleagues, and campus partners regarding policies, program interpretations, and best practices.
  3. 5% Creates standard job descriptions aligned with organizational structure and approved methodologies.
  4. 5% Acts as a liaison to HR staff, reviewing data and recommending solutions for complex pay scenarios in accordance with policies and laws.
  5. 10% Contributes to strategic compensation and classification initiatives and objectives.
  6. 20% Maintains and evaluates the effectiveness of the compensation program, recommending improvements as needed.
