Job summary

BRIDGEWATER RETIREMENT CENTRE INC., located in Bridgewater, NS B4V 2T3, is hiring a Housekeeper on a permanent, full-time basis. Two positions are available with Morning and Evening shifts.

You will sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, change beds, stock linen, and clean and disinfect kitchens, bathrooms, and common areas while assisting residents with personal hygiene. The ideal candidate is fluent in English, holds a high school diploma, and has 1–7 months of related experience.

Qualifications

• The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The ideal candidate will have 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related industry.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors.
• Dust furniture.
• Vacuum carpets, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture.
• Make beds and change sheets.
• Stock the linen closet.
• Clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances.
• Disinfect operating rooms and other areas.
• Clean and disinfect elevators.
• Handle and report lost and found items.
• Provide basic facility information.
• Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene.
• Mend clothing and linens.
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
