Job summary

Northwood, Atlantic Canada’s largest not-for-profit continuing care organization, is inviting applications for a Halifax Housekeeper. Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Services, the role performs cleaning duties and supports a safe, clean working environment. Qualifications

• Grade X or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and follow through on instructions.
• 2 years of housekeeping experience in Long Term Care or Acute Care.
• Knowledge of floor stripping, carpet care, and refinishing floors.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas.
• Transport garbage and recycling with large carts.
• Maintain floors and carpets per procedures.
• Operate washers and dryers per instructions.
• Assist in other laundry duties as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of equipment and area.
• Complete special cleaning projects as assigned.
