Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Dietary Aide to join our Ontario communities. This role supports residents by assisting in meal preparation, serving, and ensuring proper food handling and hygiene according to regulatory standards. Strong English communication is required and professional checks are mandatory.

Compliance with Vulnerable Sector and Criminal Records checks is required; on-site work in Ontario locations is expected, with accommodations provided during recruitment where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must maintain a current Safe Food Handler’s Certificate.
• Familiar with correct service and handling of food.
• Ability to operate institutional cooking equipment (dishwasher, toaster, meat-slicer).
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Must pass Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario).
• Must pass Criminal Records Check (British Columbia).

Responsibilities

• Follow proper food handling techniques and store food with correct labeling and dates.
• Keep work areas clean and organized; perform scheduled cleaning duties.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors in food prep, dish room, and storage areas.
• Support all aspects of food service to meet residents' needs per infection control standards.
• Assist in meal preparation, serving meals/beverages, and following residents' diets and preferences.
• Take orders for menu choices from residents and manage service flow.
• Set and clear tables in dining rooms; wash and sanitize tables, chairs, and serveries.
