We are currently hiring casual Companions at $17/hour in Hamilton and Burlington.

Job Description

• Provide companionship and basic household tasks for medically stable patients under the supervision of a Home Support Supervisor.
• Perform basic meal preparation and light housekeeping duties, such as washing dishes, taking out the garbage, doing client’s laundry, and sweeping/vacuuming within the client’s immediate living area.
• Provide respite for medically stable patients when the primary caregiver is unavailable.
• Maintain awareness of the patient’s abilities, current diagnosis, diet, personal interests, and special needs.
• Travel within the assigned region between patients’ residences or facilities is required.

Qualifications

• Compassionate individual with a passion for helping others.
• Ability to interact with others in a caring, courteous, and tactful manner.
• Ability to speak other languages is considered an asset.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Police Check and TB Test (within the last 6 months) are required for employment.
• TB Test (within 1 year) and updated immunization record are also required.
