Summer Student Term Positions - Sackville Campus

Join the Northwood team this summer!

We are looking for dynamic individuals to be a part of our team at Sackville for the position of Adult Day Community Worker - summer students.

Positions Details:

Length of the term: 8 weeks - Part-time - Term positions

Number of hours: 70 hours bi-weekly (7 hour Shifts - Days)

Salary: $16.30 per hour

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Grade 11 or higher
  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act(1). , and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Interest in working with older adults living with dementia.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Plans, implements and evaluates daily activities and programs.
  • Ensures the safety of the participants.
  • Provides support/assists with daily living skills.
  • Follows care plan and provides input.
  • Provide clients with appropriate assistance and information to be able to participate in community gatherings, special events, recreation activities and physical fitness while at the Adult Day Program.
  • Maintain communication with multiple clients and caregivers.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Participate in the process of ensuring that the needs of clients are anticipated and satisfied with relation to the functions of all programs/special events/etc.
  • Participates in organizational learning and change.
  • Participates as a member of the team in planning and operations to gain on the job skills training.
