Farsi Speaking Community Support Worker - Surrey

Cheshire Homes Society of BC is recruiting for a Farsi Speaking Casual Community Support Worker in the Surrey area.

We have a client who requires a Farsi speaking Community Support Worker in Surrey. The successful candidate will be paired with this client and may have the opportunity to support additional English-speaking clients based on contract availability.

In consultation with the Program Manager, the Community Support Worker provides life skills training and support services for persons with disabilities, including those with acquired brain injuries. Responsibilities include personal care, daily living support, access to community leisure programs, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, medical appointment scheduling, and organizing weekly schedules for clients with brain injuries living in the community. The goal is to empower clients to perform daily activities independently, providing support and intervention as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Recent experience working with individuals with brain injuries or other disabilities
  • Experience in behaviour modification techniques
  • Current certification in emergency first aid and CPR level A
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Class 5 Driver's License
  • Ability to use a personal vehicle to visit clients' homes and transport clients to appointments and outings
  • Fluent in Vietnamese

Starting Wage: $27.92/hour

Hours: Typically 1.5 to 3-hour sessions scheduled between 8 am and 6 pm, Monday to Friday, based on client contract availability.
