Catholic Social Services is currently seeking Casual Immigration Community Support Workers in EDMONTON to join our Immigration and Settlement Services team. This is a casual / on-call position with no guaranteed hours. You will provide client-centered care, supporting newcomers to Canada with confidence, thoughtfulness, and motivation to succeed in their new community.

Program Overview :

Immigration and Settlement Services offers quality support to newcomers, helping them understand their rights and responsibilities in Canada.

Job Summary :

As a Community Support Worker, you will collaborate with a team to facilitate a smooth transition for newcomers. Under the guidance of Settlement Counsellors and the Program Coordinator, you will provide interpretation services in clients' native languages, assist during orientation sessions and appointments, teach life skills, and support practical learning to help clients adapt successfully to life in Canada.

What This Job Requires :

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent, with experience or training working with newcomers and providing interpretation services.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office, administrative tasks, and housekeeping.
  • Experience working with newcomers is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Current Police Information Check (including vulnerable sector search) and Intervention Record Check within six months.

Note : Police checks are a condition of employment and the candidate's responsibility.

Language Requirements :

Fluency in English and one or more of the following languages :

  • Dari
  • Pashto
  • Russian
  • Oromo
  • Amharic
  • Somali
  • Spanish
