The Salvation Army Midland Division Midtown Service and Treatment Center is looking for a Community Support Worker & Job Training Manager. This individual will provide case management services to individuals with a special emphasis on employment, health, housing, and community resources that will assist stabilization of clients in a recovery lifestyle in the community.
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position, with a starting salary of $45,000 per year. The Salvation Army Midtown Service and Treatment Center is located at 2900 Washington Ave, Saint Louis, MO.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in human social work, psychology, nursing, or a closely related area plus one year of work experience is required. Experience working with individuals recovering from substance abuse is a plus. Combination of education and work experience will be considered. Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Missouri Associate Alcohol & Drug Counselor (MAADC I or II) is a plus. If not currently holding a credential through MSAPCB, application required within first 90 days of employment. Requires some computer word processing, spreadsheet, and email experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; understanding of the homeless and chemically dependent. CPR/First Aid certification and annual TB test required. Must be a team player, a self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision. Must demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment.
Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, etc. Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. There will be times the individual is frequently in and out of vehicles.
