A leading company is seeking a support worker to assist individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities and complex behavioural issues. The role involves promoting independent living, developing service plans, and providing both home-based and community-based support. Candidates should have a relevant degree and experience in social services.
Directly supporting individuals referred by Community Living of BC (CLBC) with neurodevelopmental disabilities and complex neurobehavioural issues. Complex neurobehavioural issues may include, but are not limited to, substance misuse, struggles maintaining housing, dual diagnosis, and challenging behaviour(s) that put the individual at increased risk of criminal justice involvement/being criminalized. Assess and collaboratively establish service delivery goals (ex. occupational, recreational, social, housing and financial) with those served. Where appropriate, incorporate the input of family members and other community stakeholders. Support with activities of daily living (ADL) and promoting independent life skills. Position requires working independently with the person served in their home and/or in the community.
