Full-Time | 37.5 hours/week | $25–$30/hour | Central and North Okanagan

About the Role

We’re hiring a Community Support & Justice Services Facilitator, a full-time position that combines one-on-one community support with advocacy and systems navigation for clients involved in the justice system. You’ll work with individuals affected by brain injury across the Central and North Okanagan [from Enderby to Peachland], helping them build life skills, access services, and move forward in their recovery journey.

This role includes a mix of direct client work, court and system navigation, outreach, and community education. It’s well-suited for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to equity, justice, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

Client Support and Coordination

  • Deliver one-on-one, brain-injury informed support to clients
  • Assist with developing compensatory strategies and life skills
  • Coordinate and document individualized support plans
  • Offer consistent outreach and check-ins

Justice Services Navigation

  • Support clients involved with the criminal justice system
  • Provide court accompaniment and assist with probation requirements
  • Connect clients to housing, mental health, addiction, and legal resources
  • Promote risk reduction and positive engagement with community systems

Community Engagement & Education

  • Build partnerships with police, legal aid, probation, and other service providers
  • Provide education on brain injury and the justice system to internal and external stakeholders
  • Help reduce stigma through outreach and public awareness

Program Access & Advocacy

  • Ensure equitable access to BrainTrust programs and services
  • Act as a liaison between clients and community or government systems
  • Advocate for client needs in health, legal, and social contexts
Who We’re Looking For
  • Diploma or degree in social work, psychology, community support, criminology, or a related field
  • Experience supporting individuals with brain injury, mental health challenges, or substance use
  • Trauma-informed, culturally safe, and comfortable working with marginalized populations
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Class 5 driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle required
