Job description

This position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating the development and administration of programs designed for school-age children and families for the City of Kawartha Lakes, the City of Peterborough, and Peterborough County. These include:

  • After-school programs
  • Specialty programs
  • Camp programs (Summer Camp, March Break, Christmas Break, and PA Days)
  • Oversight of Community Development (Facility rentals, school electives, PEAK indoor/outdoor activities)

Qualifications

  • Recreational and Leadership and/or Business Administration Diploma required
  • Experience developing programs for children and youth
  • Fundraising and Grant Proposal experience is an asset
  • Police/Vulnerable Sector Check Clearance
  • Current certification in Standard First Aid – Level 'C', Crisis Intervention certification, and HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or willingness to attain
  • ECE (Early Childhood Education) Certificate required or willingness to obtain
  • Effective communication skills, confidence, strategic thinking, hard work, and dedication
  • A value-driven individual who aligns with the Club's core values, mission, and vision, and demonstrates a strong commitment to confidentiality and privacy
  • Obtain an 'F' class license to support transportation of participants when required
  • Challenges Unlimited Inc - Level 2 training or willingness to acquire
