Location : Toronto, ON

Employment Type : Permanent / Part-time

Schedule : Monday to Friday from 5pm-10pm, Remote

Pay Range : $33-$35 / hr

Job Summary :

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Community Services Worker (CSW) Instructor to join our faculty at a reputable career college in Toronto. The ideal candidate will bring real-world experience and instructional expertise to guide, inspire, and prepare students for successful careers in community and social services. You will be responsible for delivering curriculum, supporting student learning outcomes, and promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Deliver engaging and interactive lectures, workshops, and practical training sessions based on the Community Services Worker curriculum.
• Provide individualized support and mentorship to students to foster academic success and professional development.
• Develop, update, and adapt course materials in alignment with industry standards and Ministry requirements.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, presentations, tests, and practical evaluations.
• Ensure the classroom environment promotes inclusivity, respect, and professionalism.
• Incorporate diverse teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles.
• Stay current with community services trends, legislation, and best practices.
• Participate in staff meetings, curriculum development sessions, and professional development opportunities.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records in accordance with college policies.
• Provide career guidance and support to students entering the workforce or seeking placement opportunities.

Qualifications :

• Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 35 years of experience working in the community or social services sector.
• Previous teaching or training experience, preferably in a post-secondary or adult education setting.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, community resources, and case management techniques.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable with online and hybrid learning platforms (e.g., Zoom, Moodle, MS Teams).
• Instructor certification or teaching credentials considered an asset.
• A passion for student success and educational excellence.

Preferred Attributes :

• Experience supporting marginalized populations, including newcomers, youth, and individuals with mental health or addiction issues.
• Familiarity with Ontario Ministry guidelines for private career colleges.
• Trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally sensitive teaching practices.
