Job summary

The Town of Stony Plain is hiring a Community Peace Officer (CPO) Level I for full-time, permanent work. You will enforce Town bylaws and provincial statutes, respond to complaints, and conduct patrols to ensure public compliance.

Collaboration with RCMP and external agencies is essential for education and safety. Required qualifications include a High School Diploma, a current CPO Level 1 appointment, PARE, Defensive Tactics, OC certification, and EVOC.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of practical experience.
• Possess and/or qualify for a current CPO Level 1 appointment.
• Current PARE certificate.
• Current Defensive Tactics training.
• Current OC certification.
• Emergency Vehicle Operator Course.

Responsibilities

• Enforce Town Bylaws and Provincial Statutes.
• Respond to and investigate complaints; conduct patrols (vehicle, bike, foot).
• Liaise with RCMP and external agencies for public education and safety.
• Promote fair, consistent, community-oriented enforcement.
• Adapt to varying weather and physical demands.
