A leading agency in Ontario seeks a Community Reintegration Worker to provide frontline advocacy and counseling services. POSITION SUMMARY, Community Reintegration Worker
The Community Reintegration Worker (CRW) works directly with clients, providing frontline advocacy, counselling and crisis intervention services while maintaining high levels of respect and trust. The incumbent takes an active role in assisting clients to reintegrate into the community by facilitating connections with external agencies.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
1.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Social Sciences or Social Services; minimum one year of frontline work experience in community outreach. Case management experience an asset.
2.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Incumbent must have knowledge of offender behaviour and the ability to assess their needs and risks. Incumbent must be knowledgeable of and sensitive to the stressors affecting people who have been incarcerated for long periods of time, and knowledgeable and of and sensitive to the stressors affecting people living in isolation, poverty and addiction. knowledge of community resources is critical. Incumbent must have excellent writing, administrative and communication skills.
3.LEVEL OF DIRECTION RECEIVED
Incumbent works under the direct supervision of the Executive Director or designate.

Executive Director:Discuss work in progress and assigned tasks.Caseworker/Community Reintegration Workers:Discuss client related issues pertinent to reintegration and risk.Clients:Provide counselling and crisis intervention; provide referrals to resourcesto reduce the likelihood that they will re-offend.

CSC/ Parole Board:Provide case documentation and written reports.External resources, agencies:Refer clients to external agencies.
