Job summary

The Sahtú Renewable Resources Board (SRRB) is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to guide the Public Listening Series, uniting communities, knowledge holders, harvesters, youth and decision-makers to address caribou conservation in the Sahtú Region.

Working within the Planning for the Future framework, you will oversee planning, engagement, research support, communications, training, and event delivery, supporting Indigenous-led conservation and long-term stewardship.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working collaboratively with Indigenous governments, communities, or organizations.
  • Proven project coordination experience across multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Experience facilitating meetings and community engagement processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of environmental management, conservation, Indigenous stewardship.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate implementation of the SRRB Public Listening Series workplan.
  • Manage schedules, budgets, and tracking systems for timely delivery.
  • Coordinate logistics for events with host communities and partners.
  • Support preparation for Public Listening Sessions, including outreach and documentation.
  • Travel to Sahtú communities to assist submissions and participation.
  • Support development of collaborative and evidence-based wildlife conservation plans.
  • Prepare public notices, briefing notes, and reports.
