Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart in Fredericton, NB is seeking a Pharmacist on duty to manage pharmacy operations, provide patient counselling, and dispense medications in full scope per regulatory requirements.

You will collaborate with health care providers, uphold privacy, maintain accurate records, and ensure a safe, patient-centered experience in a busy community setting with local ownership and national support.

Qualifications

• Ability to work within federal/provincial regulatory requirements.
• Provide counselling on prescriptions and OTC/behind the counter products.
• Maintain privacy and consent management in all interactions.
• Dispense medications accurately and safely.
• Communicate with other health care professionals in the circle of care.
• Maintain documentation per legislation, standards and policy.
• Support workflow and inventory management in the dispensary.
• Commit to delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge customers approaching the Pharmacy and provide service.
• Ensure privacy, confidentiality and consent management.
• Counsel on prescriptions and OTC products and ensure accuracy of dispensed meds.
• Work within expanded scope with professional services when capable.
• Maintain records and communicate with health care professionals as needed.
• Oversee dispensary workflow, queues and stock levels.
• Review controlled substances handling per regulations and Health Canada rules.
• Assist in financial reporting and respond to store communications.
