Responsibilities

  • Open and operate the drop-in centre procedures
  • Sort and organize the outreach supply room and accept donations throughout the day
  • Make appropriate community referrals for individuals seeking support
  • Keep coffee station clean and stocked
  • Monitor bathrooms and public drop-in space
  • Track outreach and drop-in data and submit monthly reports
  • Gather impact stories and connect with community partners to bring programs
  • Oversee elder food hampers (5 hampers every Tuesday)
  • Develop harm-reduction educational materials
  • Engage with community members and stakeholders to raise awareness about resources
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, social services and law enforcement to build a support network

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Complete opening procedures for the drop in centre

  • Engage with community members, organizations, and stakeholders to raise awareness about harm reduction
  • Conduct outreach activities to connect with individuals at risk and provide them with resources and support
  • Collect and analyze data related to program effectiveness and community needs
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders and funders
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare providers, social services, and law enforcement to create a comprehensive support network for individuals at risk

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in harm reduction, substance use treatment, or public health programs
  • Strong understating of the principles and practices of harm reduction
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in data collection and analysis
  • Knowledge of community resources and services related to mental health and substance use
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs

Must Provide

  • Criminal record and vulnerable sector check
  • Valid class 5 drivers license, and drivers abstract
