Community Occupational Therapist (Independent Contractor) - Prince George, BC

Full time position: Monday to Friday 8am -4pm

What led you to become an occupational therapist? We are seeking an occupational therapist to join our team in delivering collaborative, relationship-based occupational therapy services in the community. As a self-starter with integrity and accountability, the successful candidate would have the opportunity to develop a holistic occupational therapy practice with mentorship and support from our leadership team. If you are eager to make a difference and you’re passionate about offering excellent care that addresses the diverse health and well-being needs of community members, this is the position for you.

Take an inside look at what you’ll do each day:
  1. Provide occupational therapy services to people who have sustained mental health, physical, or brain injuries.
  2. Meet clients where they are at, in their homes, workplaces, communities, or virtually.
  3. Form relationships built with trust, seek to understand factors and facilitators relating to a client access to, initiation of, and sustained occupational participation.
  4. Collaborate with clients, employers, funders, and health care team members in designing and delivering tailored occupational therapy services to promote return to work, reintroduction of everyday occupations, and well-being.
  5. Connect with team members and team leaders to innovate and improve the quality of the healthcare services we provide.

Here’s What You’ll Need To Be Successful:
  1. You are a graduate of a recognized School of Occupational Therapy.
  2. You are a registered member in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
  3. Have experience in the private sector and working within the community.
  4. Experience with Mental Health diagnoses, brain and spinal cord injuries.
  5. Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with a willingness to travel to rural site(s).
  6. You are passionate about your profession and committed to ongoing professional development.
  7. New Graduates are welcome to apply.
