Job description

Hours of Work: Rotating shifts between Days (9am-5pm) and Evenings (1pm-9pm) and working one in every 5 weekends (Saturday and Sunday, 10am-6pm)

How You Will Make an Impact

In this role, you will work to make a difference in the lives of tenants living at Welkom House.

  • Provide tenants with primary case management and community resources
  • Services to tenants include assessment & planning
  • Provide crisis prevention and intervention and supportive counseling
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Good Shepherd mission values of Hospitality, Responsibility, Availability, Adaptability, Quality and Dignity
  • Observe all health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations

What You'll Bring to Our Team

  • A post-secondary education in social or health services
  • A minimum of three years' experience in mental health, and concurrent disorders is required
  • 'Recovery orientation' and 'consumer driven' style of practice is essential
  • Possess the ability to work independently and think creatively
  • Ability to speak French and/or other languages considered an asset
  • CPR certification or willingness to be certified is required
  • Adhere to working and operating within an anti-racism and anti-oppression framework
