Qualifications

Position Summary
Interior Health is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our dynamic Mental Health team at the Nelson Health Centre, located in the beautiful community of Nelson, B.C.
The Community Mental Health Worker 2 functions as a part of the larger health care team and as a member of a specific Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) multi-disciplinary specialized team whose purpose is to ensure that persons with severe and persistent mental health problems and/or substance use disorders have access to timely, responsive, evidence based psychosocial rehabilitation across the continuum of available services.
This position performs a variety of life skills, advocacy, supportive counseling, psychosocial rehabilitation planning, and general support duties involving clients who are living in their own housing for the assigned client population(s).
This casual position offers daytime shifts, Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 16:30.

Qualfications
Education, Training and Experience:
-Grade 12
-Diploma in a field relevant to the position
-Two years recent related experience working with the assigned client population(s) experiencing mental health and/or substance abuse problems; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
