Job summary

The Mustard Seed in Red Deer is seeking a Food Services Driver to coordinate pickup and delivery of donations and school meals. Reporting to the Food Services Supervisor, you will represent The Mustard Seed with donors and partners in the community. This full‑time, on‑site role requires driving experience, physical ability to lift 50 lbs, and a passion for ending homelessness.

Hours vary (typically weekdays 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) with occasional weekends; comprehensive training provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years driving experience in a professional capacity.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to professionally represent The Mustard Seed to community and business partners.
  • Passion for ending homelessness and reducing poverty in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up food donations from local partners/donors and deliver to various locations.
  • Pick up food/transfers from Seed locations and other agencies as required.
  • Ensure the safe and timely delivery of school lunches to required schools in Red Deer and surrounding Rural areas.
  • Connect with community members, donors, school employees, etc., and act as a positive representative of The Mustard Seed (TMS).
  • Sort donations according to guidelines and maintain vehicle cleanliness for daily readiness.
  • Coordinate with Facilities Team for regular vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist the Food Services Team with tasks as required.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
