Job summary

Interior Health in Williams Lake, BC is seeking a casual Life Skills Outreach Worker to join our Mental Health Substance Use (MHSU) team. The role focuses on outreach, community and facility-based services for adults with serious mental illness or substance use challenges, within a psychosocial rehabilitation framework.

The successful candidate will conduct risk assessments, crisis interventions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans, while promoting

Qualifications

  • Mental Health Worker Certificate, Human Services Worker Certificate or Addictions Worker Certification.
  • Two years recent related experience with mental illness or substance use issues.
  • Food Safe Level 1 Certificate.
  • Basic First Aid Certificate.
  • Non-violent crisis intervention training.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License (Class 5).

Responsibilities

  • Provide outreach, community and facility care within a psychosocial rehabilitation framework.
  • Conduct risk assessments and crisis interventions as needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
  • Support recovery, independence and community integration through person-centered care.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of care activities and client progress.
