Community Kinesiologist (Independent Contractor)

Join to apply for the Community Kinesiologist (Independent Contractor) role at CBI Health .

Position Overview

This is a full-time community-based role with travel around the Vancouver / Burnaby area. The wage range is $24.00-$40.00, dependent on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support clients engaging in exercise and active treatment modalities, tailoring plans to client needs and resources.
  • Provide education and skills to maximize treatment participation and recovery.
  • Update clinical stakeholders regularly via emails and phone calls.
  • Navigate challenges through effective interpersonal communication, collaborating within CBI and developing relationships with funders, employers, and case managers.
  • Network with other treatment providers to ensure a safe and sustainable platform for active rehabilitation and exercise.
  • Work with diverse client profiles, including acute strains, orthopedic injuries, chronic pain, and cognitive or mood disorders.
  • Prepare and submit reports in line with program and contract standards.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in kinesiology or human kinetics.
  • Registered or in the process of registering with BCAK.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Experience working with mental health and chronic pain clients.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Empathetic with the ability to build rapport with patients.
  • Understanding of medical conditions, disability management, and exercise prescription.
  • A reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance.
