Job summary

The Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services Corporation is seeking a dedicated Community Justice Coordinator for a term contract until September 30, 2025. This full-time position, based in Timmins, will involve supporting Community Justice Navigators and managing administrative tasks for the satellite fly-in court project. Ideal candidates will have relevant qualifications and experience within First Nation Communities.

Qualifications

  • Direct work experience in an administrative coordination capacity.
  • Ability to format correspondence including memos and letters.
  • Working knowledge of Cree, Ojibway, or Oji-Cree language as an asset.

Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services Corporation is presently recruiting for a

COMMUNITY JUSTICE COORDINATOR

(Term Contract – Ending September 30, 2025) Timmins, ON

The Community Justice Coordinator will work closely with the satellite fly-in court project team to provide administrative support where needed. The Community Justice Coordinator will also be responsible for overseeing and providing support to the Community Justice Navigators located in the NAN Communities. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Qualifications:

•Post-secondary Degree/Diploma, certification would be considered an asset

•Direct work experience in an administrative coordination capacity

•Able to write and format correspondence, including memos, letters, etc.

•Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint required

•Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential

•Records maintenance skills with ability to maintain filing systems and basic databases

•Excellent telephone manners and excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

•High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability

•Excellent teamwork and team building skills

•Strong organizational, time management and multitasking skills

•High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion

•Working knowledge of Cree, Ojibway or Oji-cree language is an asset

•Experience and knowledge of the legal system is an asset.

•Experience working with NAN and in First Nation Communities

Location: Timmins, ON Hours: Full Time (35 Hours Per Week)

Salary: In accordance with established pay grid and commensurate with education/experience
