Base pay range

CA$43,000.00 / yr - CA$59,000.00 / yr

Salary Range :

The salary range for this position is$43,000 to $59,000 . The final offer will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and internal equity considerations. Please note that the offer may fall anywhere within the posted range and is not necessarily at the top end.

Overview :

The Community Information Officer will manage the Highway 99 Tunnel Program (H99TP) community office, serving as the first point of contact for the public and stakeholders. They will provide program information, respond to inquiries, and support broader engagement activities. Responsibilities include office administration, tracking interactions, maintaining stakeholder records, and assisting with event coordination, materials development, and logistics. The role is based out of both the Vancouver project office and the Ladner community office.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Represent the program in a way that is professional, friendly, helpful, and efficient.
  • General office administration, including answering and redirecting calls, scheduling meetings, and managing supplies.
  • Manage day-to-day drop-ins and invited visitors at the Community Information Office, responding to general phone and email inquiries from local community members, organizations, and businesses. Provide answers about the Highway 99 Tunnel Program with support from the project team, and escalate challenging inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Track interactions with the public and stakeholders providing written summaries to the project team on a weekly basis.
  • Support accurate record keeping in the program’s online stakeholder database, including entries from community office interactions and those generated by the broader project team, especially the technical and environmental teams.
  • Support the development of summary reports of program engagement, including external stakeholder and community meetings.
  • Supporting the project team through drafting and coordinating materials, distributing public and stakeholder notifications, as well as assisting with stakeholder mapping and data tracking.
  • Plan and coordinate engagement activities with stakeholders and communities.
  • Support public events as required.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience preferred.
  • Effective oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient at MS Office suite of products(Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Professional, friendly, and collaborative working style.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to take on new tasks.
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently.
