Job summary

Entreinstitute in Canada seeks a Community Inclusion Worker (Float Position) to support individuals across physical, social, vocational, educational and medical needs within the Community Living Team. You will implement participants' programs, align with agency policies and collaborate with families, staff and volunteers; this temporary six-month role requires Union membership (BCGEU) and may involve driving a personal vehicle.

Shifts are Mon-Fri 9am-3pm across various CI locations.

Qualifications

• Must have a Community Support Worker Certificate or equivalent education/experience.
• Three months’ experience delivering similar services to individuals with disabilities in community settings.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
• Driver's license, clean criminal record search and driver's abstract, physician health reference.
• Experience using Microsoft Office suite is preferred.

About your role as a Community Inclusion Worker ( Float Position):

As an integral part of the Community Living Team, you will support the quality of life for the persons served by ensuring that their physical, social, vocational, educational and medical needs are met. You will also participate in the implementation of all aspects of the participants' program, including agency policies, procedures and philosophy.

What you will bring:

• Demonstrated ability to advocate, provide personalized support, and teach life skills and self-advocacy skills to participants and families
• Knowledge of theory, values, and practices in community living including support systems

• Ability to perform lifts and transfers of clients

Requirements of the job:

• A Community Support Worker Certificate, or equivalent education and experience

• You will need to have a driver's license, a current and satisfactory criminal record search and driver's abstract, a physician’s health reference

Hiring Incentive

Join our team and receive a $500 hiring incentive when you successfully complete your three-month probationary period, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.

Additional information:

• The successful applicant will begin employment at the our Various CI locations - Monday - Friday 9am -3pm and is required to be available between 8:30 am - 3:30 pm to accommodate the scheduling of shifts at different locations
• Applicants must provide at least one written professional reference from a previous supervisor or manager.
• This is a temporary six-month position, will be ended with two weeks’ notice and might be posted permanenc
• This position is open to all qualified individuals and requires Union membership (BCGEU)
  
• May be required to use personal vehicle
• Successful applicants will be required to obtain a Class 4 driver's license in order to pass the trial period
