Position Summary

As a Community Health Worker II, under the supervision of the Team Lead or designated clinical leader and as part of an interprofessional healthcare team, you will provide home support services to clients based on a pre-established care plan. Your responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, and meal preparation, while promoting maximum independence. You will perform delegated tasks for which you have completed delegation training. A key aspect of this role is ensuring the well-being of individuals and families and promoting independent living within the community.

Must have current registration with the BC Care Aide Registry

Shift Rotation/Hours of Work: Evenings, Nights - 14:30 to 23:00, 20:00 to 06:30, Rotating

Smithers is located in the picturesque Bulkley Valley, surrounded by three mountain ranges, providing a stunning Alpine setting. The population is approximately 6,000, with an additional 5,000 from surrounding communities. The area features three elementary schools, one secondary school, an alternative school for grades 9-12, and Coast Mountain College. Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized Home Support Attendant/Resident Care Aid Program
