Job description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. The commitment to continuous quality and safety improvement is integral to this role.

As part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Community Health Worker provides personal care assistance and support to clients and their caregivers/families to promote independence at home. This includes assistance with activities of daily living and delegated tasks, following established care plans.

Travel may be required for this position. Transportation arrangements must meet Vancouver Island Health Authority operational needs, which may include using a personal vehicle and holding a valid BC Driver's License.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience
  • Home Support/Resident Care Attendant/Health Care Assistant Certificate from a recognized post-secondary program, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Food Safe Certificate.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.

Current registration and good standing with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
