In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
As a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Community Health Worker provides personal care assistance and support to clients and their caregivers/families to promote and maximize independence in the home setting, including assistance with activities of daily living and delegated tasks, as directed and in accordance with established plans of care. Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle; and a valid BC Driver's License.
Home Support/Resident Care Attendant/Health Care Assistant Certificate from a recognized post-secondary program; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Food Safe Certificate; and valid BC driver's license. Current registration and in good standing with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
Days Off: Wednesday, Thursday. Shift Details: Evenings. 16:00 to 22:00. This position is eligible for up to a $15,000 signing bonus. Employees must meet eligibility criteria. Discuss your eligibility with a recruiter today!
