Job summary

Nunatsiavut Government is seeking a Health Promotion Facilitator to inform beneficiaries about programs and services, deliver group sessions, and organize health education activities in the community of Hopedale. The role includes home visits, event coordination, and collaboration with partners to ensure comprehensive services.

The position requires a minimum of Community Studies or equivalent, and strong writing, communication and organizational skills. Bilingual Inuktitut/English is an asset.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Community Studies or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Self-directed with strong interpersonal, writing, communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Inform Nunatsiavut Beneficiaries and community members of available programs, services and benefits.
  • Deliver and coordinate group sessions and presentations on health promotion, prevention and education.
  • Coordinate and offer special events and celebrations.
  • Conduct home visits.
  • Provide individual and group programming for children, youth, adults and elders.
  • Demonstrate innovation and enthusiasm in developing and delivering health promotion activities for various age groups.
  • Compile and submit monthly statistics and program activity reports to Team Leader.
  • Network with other divisions within Nunatsiavut Government and partner organizations to ensure adequate services.
  • Participate in staff development as required.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Travel as required.
  • Training and in servicing as required.
  • Other related duties as required
