Job summary

Metlakatla Development Corporation seeks a Nurse Manager to lead community nursing services in Metlakatla and nearby Prince Rupert. You will supervise nursing staff, support clinics, plan budgets, and develop health programs in partnership with health authorities.

The role requires a BSc Nursing, current BC RN registration, 3+ years in supervisory roles, and experience in community health or public health. Some travel and a valid driver's license are needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing and current registration in good standing with BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
• Minimum of three years in a supervisory or nursing leadership role.
• Three to five years in community health, public health, primary care, or related nursing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities to manage staff and programs.
• Experience working with Indigenous communities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on nursing support in the community and assist with urgent or emerging health needs.
• Supervise nursing and health program staff, including training, mentoring, monitoring, performance feedback, and input to hiring and professional development.
• Coordinate day-to-day activities of the nursing team, including staff scheduling, clinic support, outreach, health promotion, and continuity of care for clients.
• Oversee delivery, coordination, and administration of community nursing services and related health programs for Metlakatla members.
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate health programs responding to community priorities.
• Provide reports and recommendations to the Executive Director for health service changes and program initiatives.
• Create an annual workplan for nursing services and health programming with the Health Director.
