Job summary

Home Care Assistance Edmonton is seeking Health Care Aides to provide personal care in the Edmonton area. You will work with clients to support daily living activities, implement Balanced Care and Cognitive Therapeutics methods, and coordinate with families and management to ensure continuity of care.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of home care experience, a reliable attendance record, and the ability to meet physical demands.

Qualifications

• 3+ years Home care experience required.
• Good attendance record, reliable and punctual.
• Living in the Edmonton Area.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (standing, walking, stooping, lifting).
• Dementia experience is an asset.

Job description

Home Care Assistance Edmonton is looking for Health Care Aides who have experience in a homecare setting and is dedicated to providing care to clients with various needs and is located in the Edmonton Area.

As a Health Care Aide, one is responsible for providing personal assistance or direct care, encouraging activities of daily living, using the agency’s Balanced Care Method and Cognitive Therapeutics Method, and providing comfort and services to clients who require short-term or ongoing support and assistance.

This individual will work closely with the patients, their families, and the management team to establish the continuity of care in the community.

A Health Care Aide plays a key role in providing safety, high-quality service and patient / family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Home Care Assistance Edmonton.

Skills Required: The ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities is essential. The candidate must be able to problem solve situations in a complex environment, work effectively within a team or independent setting and provide excellent communication skills, compassionate, caring attitude and attention to detail is required.

Experience working with individuals with disabilities, will be considered an asset.

• 3+ year Home care working experience.
• Good attendance record, reliable, punctual, caring, pleasant personality.
• Living in the Edmonton Area
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position such as standing, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting and transferring clients.

Dementia experience is considered an asset.
