Job summary

DDRC in Calgary seeks a compassionate Community Resource Worker to support individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve personal quality of life goals. You will plan, implement, and evaluate supports in collaboration with clients and teams.

Responsibilities include facilitating plans, fostering community inclusion, documenting progress, and staying current with required certifications and policies. A valid First Aid/CPR, drivers license preferred.

Qualifications

  • Disabilities studies certificate/diploma or equivalent education or experience.
  • Minimum Grade 12 High School Diploma.
  • Current Standard First Aid CPR/AED – Level C required.
  • Valid driver’s license; vehicle is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Outlook; strong written/oral communication.
  • Experience supporting adults with disabilities and community inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and support clients in implementing and evaluating personal plans and goals.
  • Identify progressive steps towards identified roles and goals.
  • Provide an engaging and positive environment for clients.
  • Team development within individual team, across teams, inter-agency, intra-agency, and the community.
  • Provide personal care, as needed.
  • Provide behaviour support and follow outlined behaviour plans, as required.
  • Provide support with community inclusion including accompanying adults to activities; foster relationships.
  • Support clients in accessing augmentative communication resources if required.
  • Attend required workshops and re-certifications; complete documentation on time.
  • Attend meetings and planning sessions; understand the Community Resource Worker Position Profile.
  • Maintain adherence to agency policies and CET Accreditation Standards.
