Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Community Ministries Worker to support the foodbank and community services in Swift Current. The role involves assisting clients, coordinating kettle campaigns, and supporting volunteers and events in the community.

Responsibilities include client assistance, voucher access, and data recording, with emphasis on confidentiality and compliance with safety policies. Evening/weekend shifts may occur.

Qualifications

• Willingness to develop an understanding and support for The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
• Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to provide an original copy of a Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, including Child Check (if appropriate).

Responsibilities

• Attend training/orientation for The Salvation Army and Christmas Kettle Campaign.
• Assist with foodbank operations and client access to services.
• Supervise and recruit kettle volunteers during the campaign.
• Keep accurate records of donations and timesheets.
• Communicate with volunteers and coordination partners for smooth operations.
• Assist with special events and community programs as needed.
