Job Description

“It’s just social”. We’ve all heard it. Felt it. And fundamentally, we’ve disagreed with it. Social has quickly become one of the most complex yet rewarding spaces in all of marketing. And we don’t think it’s slowing down anytime soon. As culture becomes dictated by social, and TikTok becomes the leading entertainment platform, we’re looking for people who can help put our clients in the spotlight, by strategically positioning them at the heart of social conversation, helping grow interactions, and drive community.

As the Community Engagement Lead, your responsibility is to help our clients show up in the right ways. You’ll own the editorial calendar of their content, help develop engagement strategies, identify proactive & reactive engagement opportunities in real-time culture, and act as a steward of the audience & brand community. You’ll collaborate with strategists, creative teams, and in-house content creators to inform new content briefs, driven by insight from past performance. If Taylor Swift were to get engaged (hypothetically), you won’t just know about it – you’ll help determine if, how, and when our client’s brands show up. All in a matter of hours.

Within Community Engagement, you’ll be exposed to growth opportunities across digital strategy, content creation/creative, social writing, account services, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Lead editorial calendar for some of the top Canadian & U.S. brands
  • Conduct day-to-day community engagement to social interactions
  • Identify proactive social engagement opportunities, and help craft brand-relevant, provocative responses, in partnership with client teams
  • “Own” the channels – know and leverage past content performance to inform what and how content comes to life in future briefs
  • Support in the ideation of content briefs, with opportunity to lead them yourself
  • Assist in development of social media assets
  • When needed, support with sourcing of relevant industry and brand influencers to drive surprise and delight, campaign activation, and general social engagement
  • Perform social listening to collect community insights and content opportunities (comfortability handling data and experience with social listening tools an asset)
  • Gather, report and analyze social media metrics and results, and provide insights from the industry and overall marketing campaigns in partnership with data & analytics teams
  • Communicate effectively with clients, internal teams and partners
  • Complete ad-hoc tasks and other duties, as assigned
  • Take feedback in stride – we win together & lose together!
  • Work occasional evenings, weekends, and/or holidays in support of client needs (lieu time to be provided)
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a social media/digital marketing role
  • Experience working with key digital platforms, including Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Snapchat, Twitter, etc.
  • Strong writing background with an ability to communicate thoughts clearly and simply
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. French written and spoken an asset
  • Understanding of social analytics and what they mean. You should have an ability to convert numbers into insights to make non-obvious content recommendations that resonate
  • Track record in a client-facing role, presenting to and collaborating with an ability to think on the fly and pivot ideas in real-time
  • You are an ideal candidate if you: are curious by nature; have the spiciest take in the room; are creatively driven and think of data as a vehicle to unlocking new opportunities; have strong written and presentation skills; set high quality standards of work for yourself and aim to get every detail right; relentlessly want to improve and grow; have a bias for action; Undergraduate Degree (Marketing, Business, Public Relations/Communications, Psychology) or other related degrees considered an asset
